Board of Directors Meeting – August 6, ‏2003

 

**** BOARD MEETINGS ARE NOW HELD ON THE FIRST WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH****

 

Call to order

 

v      The meeting was called at 7:01 p.m.

v      Attendees: Laura Newberry, April Scherer, Tracey Murphy, and Dawn-Lynn Crawford.

v      The July minutes were reviewed and corrections made – Ms. April Scherer made the motion to approve the minutes. Ms. Tracey Murphy seconded the motion and the Board approved by unanimous vote.

 

Open Forum

 

v      A homeowner requested that the board look into the matter of several trees within the community, which are falling, fallen or need trimming. The trees in question have been noted and Cardinal Management has been notified.

v      Website is picking up …YEAH!

v      Island Creek is starting up “Island Creek Spirit Wear”.  Please call 703-329-7306 for further  information.

v      Stop sign on Ona and Hamilton has branches hanging out in front of it.

v      Some homeowners walking their dogs in the community are not picking up after them. (I stepped in a pile yesterday, gross!)

v      A homeowner would like the board to look at the possibility of joining Mount Vernon HOA. Homeowner will bring information about that organization at the September board meeting.

v      Homeowner mentioned that Inspection sheets could be made clearer in regards to extensions.

Building & Grounds – Vacant

           Action Items

 

v      The mats at the entrance of the pool are airing. Will look into buying new mats in the Spring.

v      Verizon have been sent two notices regarding the remaining above ground cables. No response from them thus far. Final notice will be sent.

v      Board will look at downed tree in common area.

v      Dawn- Lynn Crawford to see if letter was sent to homeowner regarding tree behind 6915 which requires trimming.

v      Cardinal to meet with FEA on August 12th regarding railroad ties supporting the retaining wall near the raceway development.

v      When did the exterminator come out and exterminate the carpenter bees at the clubhouse?

v      Heavy trucks from the new development have been parking on Hamilton.

v      Street sign on Ona and Newington down. Call County.

v      Tree branches dangerously hanging over wires at Ona and Newington.

 

Pool

 

                Action Items

 

v      Triple State Plumbing to check for possible leak under sink in clubhouse.

v      Toilet needs repair in ladies bathroom.

v      Sinks in ladies and men’s bathrooms need reattachment to wall.

v      Water fountain in pool area not working.

 

New Townhouse Development Shannon’s Landing

 

v      As of August 6th  Cardinal Management have received a total of 38 proxies for the annexation of Newberry Station and the new development (Shannon’s Landing).

v      FEA will examine the possibility of water draining from the new development into the yards located at Trestle Court. There are fears from some homeowners on Trestle Court that due to the new development being built on higher ground, any water runoff (like rain) will end up flooding their back yards.
