Recently, there has been a rash of vehicle thefts in the Mount Vernon Magisterial District, especially in the Lorton community.

 

Captain Joe Hill, Commander of the West Springfield District Station, wants all residents, not just in the Lorton community but in all areas, to be aware of this and to take the following precautions:

 

Do not leave an unattended vehicle running anywhere, even in your own driveway.  Vehicles are being stolen from driveways while warming up on cool mornings.  Never leave your car running unattended!

 

Do not leave any valuables inside your vehicle.  It is too tempting for thieves.

 

Together we can prevent auto theft.
